Julia Dyer MCSP BSc(Hons)
Children's Physiotherapist
Julia Dyer is an experienced, chartered physiotherapist who specialises in the treatment of children. She is a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and is registered with the Health Professions Council.
Julia graduated from Addenbrooke’s School of Physiotherapy, Cambridge in 1986 and then worked in Peterborough General Hospital and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge gaining general experience. Julia specialised in paediatrics in 1991 and has worked in Cambridge, Chorley and Blackburn within the NHS. In her last post she was Clinical Specialist for Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder and was responsible for developing an extensive assessment and therapy service as well as introducing sensory integration as a treatment modality.
Julia has undertaken specialist post-graduated training in paediatric physiotherapy and sensory integration. She is an Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner, one of only a handful in the country. This qualification was obtained by completing all four modules in Sensory Integration offered by the Sensory Integration Network in conjunction with The University of Liverpool. These modules are now accredited through Cardiff University. Julia is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT).
Julia is a recognised teacher with Cardiff University. She lectures on the Sensory Integration Module 1: Theory and Intervention Course in the UK and Ireland for the Sensory Integration Network.
Angie Kelly
Specialist Therapy Practitioner
Angie works for the practice as a specialist therapy practitioner and has specialised in the treatment of children with motor learning difficulties and sensory processing problems.
She is a qualified nursery nurse with a BTEC National Diploma in Social Care/Nursery Nursing. She has extensive experience working with children within many different settings. For the past 11 years she has worked within the NHS as a therapy practitioner within the children's physiotherapy service at Blackburn. This has involved working in mainstream schools, special schools and the child development centre with children aged 0 - 18 years. Angie also has extensive experience working as a local authority play worker in deprived areas.
There are a number of other professional staff that the practice draws on for their expertise when required. All staff who work for the practice have an enhanced CRB disclosure.
