Courses for Parents
Dyspraxia for Parents
Introduction:
Does your child have coordination problems, difficulty with handwriting or riding a bike, are they struggling at school?
Maybe they have been given a diagnosis of dyspraxia or developmental coordination disorder.
Or maybe their problems have not be recognised or given an official diagnosis but you are concerned about the difficulties they experience at home and/or school.
Aims:
The aim of this half day course (3 hours) is to help you understand your child's problems and the everyday difficulties they experience, and to provide you with strategies to help your child at home and at school. It also gives you the opportunity to discuss with other parents who are in a similar situation to you and realise that you are not alone. This has been a very useful way for parents to share ideas and gain support from others.
Audience:
This course is designed for groups of parents, grandparents, other family members and carers. Your child does not need to have been seen by the practice for you to attend this course.
